MICHELLE M. MYHRE

Michelle is a SF Bay Area native, who moved to the islands in 1996 and has been a devoted yoga practicioner ever since. Discovering that Yoga works on healing and integrating the physical, mental & emotional bodies, Michelle began taking morning and evening Iyengar yoga classes with Stephanie Palombo & Ae Ja Mobley at UC Manoa & the Silent Dance Center on O'ahu. She was hooked.

Moving to Maui in 1998, Michelle began a strong sitting meditation practice, found "Hot Yoga" & began teaching yoga in 2001 while continuing a daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga, Maya Yoga or Bikram's 3 hour advanced class.

In 2002, Michelle traveled to Europe to study Jivamukti Yoga with Sharon Gannon & David Life. She recieved her Jivamukti Yoga teachers certification in Austria & began teaching Jivamukti Yoga in both California & Maui. Michelle has also studied with Lino Miele, Ana Forrest, & Patricia Walden.

Currently Michelle continues her yogic education with Nickie Doane & Eddie Modestini, completing their 1st Series teacher training in 2003 & continues to study with these amazing beings whenever possible. Michelle also loves practicing with Nancy Gilgoff.

Michelle's classes will focus your attention, and bring clarity to your mental & emotional bodies. You will stretch & strengthen the body. You will develop confidence & compassion. You will feel physically, mentally & emotionally purified. You will sleep better. You will be happier, and you will be reminded at the end of each class that God is the only real teacher!

Michelle is a 500 hour member of Yoga Alliance, a licensed massage therapist (LMT#7232), a certified Acupressurist, and has a degree in Health Science.

She is the owner & Managing Director of Maui Lotus Yoga Studio & eco-Boutique.
